Our Prayer Life
St. Thomas Episcopal Church is part of the Diocese of Arkansas, worshipping as 56 local congregations throughout Arkansas. The Diocese of Arkansas is a constituent member of The Episcopal Church. We share bonds of affection with Christians worldwide in what is known as the Anglican Communion, a body of over 70 million
Christians who trace their origins to the Church of England.
Episcopalians are thinking Christians who engage questions of
faith with both seriousness and great joy. Prayer is central
to who we are as individuals, as worshipping communities, and
as a communion. (More on matters of faith and tradition .)

For centuries, Anglicans have said our prayers using a form
known as the Daily Office which includes a service of Morning
Prayer and a service of Evening Prayer. This is taken from our Book of Common Prayer. We praise God, read
from the Bible, and pray to God for solace and strength. We
take comfort that as we are doing this, literally thousands
of others around the globe do so daily as well.
You can "say" these prayers also by going to The
Daily Office.
If you would like for people at St. Thomas to pray for you,
or for someone you love, please email
us.
A Prayer for others...
Gracious and loving God, giver
of life:
Comfort and relieve all those whom we remember today, especially_____,
and may the power of Your love sustain and uplift those who
minister to them,
that they may be strengthened and have confidence in your loving
care,
through Jesus Christ, the lover of souls.
AMEN
