Understanding the Episcopal Church with The Rev. Katie Knoll Lenon

The Understanding the Episcopal Church or the Catechism is a course on the teachings of the Episcopal Church. Throughout this nine week course we will review our beliefs and practices. We will talk about how we understand our Salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we will go over our principal sacraments of Baptism and the Eucharist as well as the five other sacramental rites. We will talk about our history and how we govern ourselves. Teachings in the Episcopal Church is required before being confirmed by the Bishop into the Episcopal Church, but it is also a good refresher if it’s been a while since you were confirmed. There is required reading before each class from and the two text books for this course are- the Bible and the 1979 edition of the Book of Common Prayer.
